Introducing Our Meditation Mentors

Seasoned practitioners who have spent many years exploring the depths of contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We view meditation as more than simply clearing the mind or chasing a flawless state of calm. It’s about learning to sit with whatever arises—the racing thoughts, the planning mind, and even that persistent itch that shows up minutes into practice.

Our team combines decades of experience across diverse traditions. Some arrived at meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal upheaval, and a few found it in college and stayed. What unites us is a commitment to teaching meditation as a practical skill for everyday life, not a mystical pursuit.

Each guide brings a distinct way of explaining ideas. Rahul Iyer tends to use everyday-life analogies, while Luna Sharma draws on her psychology background. We’ve found that different approaches resonate with different people, so you’ll likely connect more with certain teaching styles.

Rahul Iyer

Lead Instructor

Rahul began his meditation journey in 1998 after burnout in his software engineering role. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen practice in Japan. What sets him apart is his knack for making ancient concepts feel relevant today—he once described the monkey mind as having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and specializes in helping busy professionals cultivate sustainable meditation habits. His sessions frequently incorporate practical guidance on weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without spiritual bypassing.

Philosophy Guide

Luna blends a PhD in United Kingdom Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She discovered contemplative work while examining ancient texts and realized that theoretical understanding is incomplete without direct experience. Her approach bridges scholarly insight with practical application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Luna has a talent for making intricate philosophical ideas accessible without oversimplifying. Students often say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate, but why these practices arose and what they aim to achieve.

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we’ve learned that meditation is most effective when it’s demystified. We don’t promise enlightenment or claim you’ll reach perfect tranquility. Instead, we focus on building practical skills that help you navigate life’s unavoidable challenges with greater awareness and reduced reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2025, giving you time to reflect on whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in thoughtful, unrushed decisions about contemplative practice—it’s not something to rush based on momentary enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual pursuit, we’d be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has transformed our lives in subtle yet profound ways, and we’ve seen it do the same for many others.
